We help nonprofits, community organizations, and small businesses across the GTA navigate government grants, council submissions, program applications, and regulatory compliance — so you can focus on the work that matters.
We handle the applications, compliance, council submissions, and paperwork — the same way a professional services firm manages complex government filings — so you don't have to.
Complete preparation and submission of federal, provincial, and municipal grant applications — from narratives and budgets to portal submissions and funder correspondence.
We identify funding programs aligned with your mission and eligibility, track upcoming deadlines, and build a funding strategy tailored to your organization.
Proposal coordination for government RFPs and tenders — we structure your response, assemble supporting documents, and ensure you meet every evaluation criterion.
Support with not-for-profit incorporation, CRA charitable registration, HST registration, municipal business licensing, and WSIB coverage — all the paperwork to get your organization running.
Post-award reporting, AODA compliance documentation, annual filing support, and program compliance — protecting your organization's standing and future funding eligibility.
We draft and submit written comments, deputation speaking notes, and formal submissions to Toronto City Council and municipal committees on your behalf — so your organization's voice is heard on the issues that matter.
A 30-minute conversation to evaluate your needs, identify opportunities, and outline next steps. No cost, no obligation — just a clear picture of your options.
We've managed hundreds of complex government applications. Here's the process distilled to its simplest form.
We learn about your organization, programs, and funding needs. We assess your grant readiness and identify the best opportunities — free, 30 minutes, no obligation.
We send you a tailored intake questionnaire, identify the right programs, collect your supporting documents, and prepare your complete application package — narratives, budgets, and all.
We submit on your behalf through the applicable portal and manage any funder correspondence, additional document requests, or follow-up questions until you get a decision.
Civic Works was founded by Tristan Leah, a graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University's Bachelor of Public Administration & Governance program with professional experience managing complex government applications in a high-volume professional services environment.
That means years of reviewing eligibility criteria, drafting persuasive narratives for government adjudicators, assembling multi-document submission packages, navigating online portals, and managing correspondence with federal and provincial authorities — applied to helping organizations like yours access the funding and support they deserve.
We believe that small nonprofits and community organizations shouldn't need a full-time grant writer or a $10,000 consultant to access public funding. Civic Works exists to bridge that gap.
